PMSYM scheme: Special two-month registration drive till March 15

Mangaluru, Jan 18: A special registration drive is being conducted from January 15 to March 15 to enrol unorganised sector workers, traders and self-employed persons under the central government’s Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PMSYM) scheme and the NPS Traders scheme.

Unorganised sector workers in the age group of 18 to 40 years are eligible to register under the scheme. Depending on the age of the beneficiary, a monthly contribution ranging from Rs 55 to Rs 200 has to be paid. An equal contribution will be made by the central government and deposited into the beneficiary’s bank account. After attaining the age of 60 years, beneficiaries will be entitled to a monthly pension of Rs 3,000.

Under the scheme, MGNREGA workers, SHG members, agricultural labourers, anganwadi workers, mid-day meal workers, ASHA workers, street vendors, domestic workers, fishermen, other unorganised sector workers and traders can enrol by visiting their nearest common service centres along with their Aadhaar card, bank passbook and the first month’s contribution.
