Colva, Jan 23: An additional sessions court has acquitted two men who were accused in a 2018 narcotics case registered by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Additional Sessions Judge Ram Subrai Prabhu Dessai delivered the verdict, clearing Mir Fazal Ali Farhan of Hyderabad and Ahamed Kunhi B, also known as Khader, from Kasaragod, Kerala, of charges under the NDPS Act.

The prosecution had alleged that in October 2018, Mir Fazal was found carrying 2 kg of charas near Goa International Airport, Dabolim. It was claimed that Kunhi met Fazal outside the airport and handed over the narcotics parcel, which was allegedly intended for export out of India.

The court, however, found insufficient evidence to sustain the charges, resulting in the acquittal of both accused.
