Mumbai: Litterateur Dr Ramakrishna Marate Receives ‘Varadaraja Adya Prashasti’

Mumbai, Feb 28: The ceremony to confer the ‘Varadaraja Adya Prashasti’ was held at Dr M Vishveshwarayya auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West), on Saturday February 25.

Karnataka Sangh president Dr G D Joshi presided over the programme here on Saturday evening.

N B H Kulkarni, chairman, VPM education institutions, Mulund, was the chief guest on the occasion who presented the Prashasti to Dr Ramakrishna Marate, renowned Kannada and Marathi litterateur and translator.

The Prashasti comprised Rs 11,000 in cash and a citation letter.

Karnataka Sangh women members Ranjani Moily and Malati Moily rendered the prayers.  Karnataka Sangh honorary treasurer Omdas Kannangar welcomed the gathering.  Joint secretary N M Gudi introduced the guests.  Sanat Kumar Jain introduced the award recipient.  Mariappa Natekar compered the programme.  

A dance recital directed by Guru Asha Kotian Nambiar was staged as part of cultural programme on the occasion.
