Goa secures strong fiscal support from Centre under 15th Finance Commission

Panaji, Feb 2: Goa has received substantial financial assistance from the Centre, with Rs 24,244 crore allocated to the State as its share of tax devolution under the 15th Finance Commission between 2020–21 and 2025–26, chief minister Pramod Sawant announced.

He described the inflow as a significant boost to the State’s finances.

Looking ahead, the chief minister said Goa is expected to receive a further Rs 5,570 crore as direct transfers in the 2026–27 financial year.



He added that the Union Budget has reinforced support for several priority sectors that are critical to Goa’s growth, including tourism, fisheries, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), agriculture and education.
