Goa cancels NOC for Tirumalla Tirupati Multistate Cooperative

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Feb 3: The Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies has withdrawn and cancelled with immediate effect the permission and No Objection Certificate (NOC) granted to Tirumalla Tirupati Multistate Co-operative Credit Society Ltd. for extending its area of operation and opening 13 branches in Goa.

According to the Registrar’s office, the decision was taken after an inspection revealed serious statutory and regulatory violations by the cooperative society. Based on these findings, the authorities concluded that continuation of the permission was not in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations governing cooperative societies.

With the cancellation of the approval, the society is restrained from operating or expanding its activities in the state of Goa under the withdrawn permission. Officials said that further action, if required, will be initiated in accordance with the provisions of the cooperative laws.

The Registrar has advised the general public to take note of the cancellation while dealing with the concerned cooperative society.
