Silver prices slide sharply across India; rates fall Rs 20,000 per kg

Mumbai, Feb 5: Silver prices witnessed a sharp decline across major Indian cities on Wednesday, February 5, with rates slipping uniformly nationwide. The price of silver fell by Rs 20 per gram and Rs 20,000 per kilogram compared to the previous trading session, bringing relief to buyers.

At the national level, silver is now trading at an average of Rs 300 per gram, down from Rs 320. One kilogram of silver is priced at Rs 3,00,000, registering a steep fall of Rs 20,000 in a single day.

In Mumbai, silver prices declined to Rs 300 per gram, while one kilogram is now available at Rs 3,00,000, reflecting the same Rs 20,000 drop seen across the country.

Chennai also mirrored the national trend, with silver priced at Rs 300 per gram and Rs 3,00,000 per kg, down Rs 20 and Rs 20,000 respectively.

In the national capital, silver prices slid sharply, with the cost of one kilogram dropping from Rs 3,20,000 to Rs 3,00,000. The per gram rate now stands at Rs 300.

Ahmedabad recorded a similar decline, with silver priced at Rs 300 per gram and Rs 3,00,000 per kilogram, down from Rs 3,20,000 in the previous session.

Kolkata saw the white metal fall sharply, as one kilogram of silver is now priced at Rs 3,00,000, marking a Rs 20,000 decline.

In Bengaluru too, silver prices eased by Rs 20 per gram and Rs 20,000 per kg, settling at Rs 300 per gram and Rs 3,00,000 per kilogram.

Market watchers attribute the decline to global price movements and subdued demand, while traders expect volatility to continue in the coming sessions.
