Pune, Feb 6: A tragic incident was reported on Thursday from Maharashtra’s Pune district, where a young man died by suicide after jumping from a building moments after going live on Facebook.
The incident occurred in the Dhawade Vasti area of Bhosari. The deceased has been identified as Keshari Prasad Sahu, a resident of Bhosari and a native of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

According to police, Sahu climbed to the top of a building on Thursday afternoon, prompting local residents to alert the authorities after noticing his distress. Police and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and made efforts to rescue him by engaging in negotiations.
During the rescue attempt, Sahu requested to speak to his wife, and officials facilitated the call in an attempt to calm him down. However, despite sustained efforts, he suddenly jumped from the building a short while later, resulting in his death.
Police recovered a four-page suicide note from the scene. In the note, Sahu alleged that he did not receive adequate assistance from the police in tracing his missing wife. He expressed suspicion that someone had lured her away and claimed that his requests for interrogation of suspects, CCTV footage review and efforts to trace her whereabouts were not adequately addressed. The note also contained emotional messages for his wife and daughter, along with instructions related to his last rites.
Following the incident, police have initiated a detailed investigation and stated that all aspects of the case are being examined. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered in connection with the matter.
