Fadnavis meets Seychelles president, discusses port-led cooperation

Mumbai, Feb 8: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday met visiting Seychelles President Dr Patrick Herminie at the Taj Mahal Palace here and held discussions on a range of issues, including port-led development and coastal management.

Sharing details of the meeting on social media, Fadnavis said the talks also focused on exploring opportunities for enhanced collaboration between Maharashtra and Seychelles in key sectors.

The chief minister extended his warm wishes to President Herminie and the people of Seychelles on the occasion of the island nation completing 50 years of independence. He also highlighted the significance of the milestone year marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Seychelles.

The meeting was attended by Seychelles Minister for Foreign Affairs Barry Faure, Minister for Finance Pierre Laporte, Minister for Transport Veronique Laporte, and Minister for Tourism and Culture Amanda Bernstein. Senior officials from the Maharashtra government were also present.
