Santa Clara, Feb 9: US President Donald Trump has launched a sharp attack on the Super Bowl LX halftime show, calling the performance by Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny “absolutely terrible” and “one of the worst ever”.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday, Trump criticised the halftime spectacle held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where Bad Bunny headlined the show, bringing Spanish-language music and reggaeton rhythms to the global sporting event.

“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence,” Trump wrote after the show concluded.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, is a Grammy-winning artist whose album Debí Tirar Más Fotos recently won Album of the Year. The 31-year-old singer has been openly critical of Trump’s deportation policies and had supported Kamala Harris during the 2024 US presidential election.
Trump had earlier objected to Bad Bunny’s selection as the halftime performer weeks before the Super Bowl, calling it “absolutely ridiculous”, and renewed his criticism following the performance.
Meanwhile, conservative group Turning Point USA staged an alternative event titled the “All-American Halftime Show”, featuring Kid Rock and other performers. The concert was promoted by several Trump-aligned figures on social media, including US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
At halftime of the Super Bowl clash, Seattle were leading New England 9-0.
