Sharad Pawar to be discharged today after recovering from chest infection

Mumbai, Feb 14: Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has recovered from his brief illness and will be discharged on Saturday, authorities at Ruby Hall Clinic said.

Dr Purvez Grant, Chief Cardiologist, Chairman and Managing Trustee of the hospital, stated that Pawar is in good health and has responded well to treatment.

“He will be discharged today. The medical team has advised him to take adequate rest for a few days, following which he may gradually resume his routine work and public engagements,” Dr Grant said.

The veteran leader was admitted to the hospital on Monday after suffering from a chest infection and a persistent cough. Doctors attributed his condition to physical stress and fatigue, reportedly caused by extensive travel and frequent public interactions.

Family sources said Pawar had been exhausted following the recent demise of his nephew and former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. Despite his health condition, he was seen meeting visitors and receiving condolences at Baramati in the aftermath of the incident.

Party leaders and supporters have expressed relief over his recovery and wished him a speedy return to active public life.
