New Delhi, Mar 1 (IANS): Tata Motors Thursday reported a 19 percent rise in sales, including exports, in February at 92,119 units. It had sold 77,543 units in the like period of 2011.

Domestic sales for the month under review rose 19 percent at 86,704 units from 73,039 units sold in the corresponding month of last year.

Exports of 5,415 vehicles were higher by 20 percent compared to 4,504 vehicles in February last year.

Segment-wise, the company reported an increase of 26 percent in domestic sales of commercial vehicles, which stood at 51,872 units from 41,130 units sold in February last year.

"LCV (light commercial vehicle) sales were 32,540, a growth of 38 percent, compared to 23,498 vehicles sold in February last year. M&HCV (medium and heavy commercial vehicle) sales stood at 19,332, a growth of 10 percent, compared to 17,632 vehicles sold in February last year," the company said in a statement.

According to the statement, domestic passenger car sales of Tata Motors and distribution offtake of Fiat cars in India grew by eight percent at 36,536 units from 33,751 units in the corresponding period of last year.

Sales of Tata Nanos were 9,217 units, higher by 12 percent compared to 8,262 units in February last year.

Sales of other passenger vehicles like Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture increased 42 percent at 6,596 units, followed by sales of Indica cars which grew by four percent at 10,424 units. However, the Indigo range went down by four percent at 8,595 units from 8,966 units sold in February last year.

Jaguar-Land Rover sales in India continued their upward trend, the company said.

The cumulative sales, including exports, till now for this fiscal grew by 12 percent at 806,354 units from 719,976 units sold in the corresponding period of last year.
