Madrid, Aug 2: Spanish club Levante have strengthened their attacking options by signing promising Belgian forward Yanis Musuayi from Club Brugge on a five-year contract following the departure of striker Carlos Espi to Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old has signed a deal until June 2030 in a transfer reportedly worth around three million euros. He is expected to compete with Cameroon international Etta Eyong for a place in Portuguese coach Luis Castro's starting XI.

Musuayi joins Levante after an impressive season with Club NXT, Club Brugge's reserve side, in Belgium's Challenger Pro League. He made 44 appearances in the second division, scoring seven goals, while also enjoying a productive UEFA Youth League campaign with six goals in 10 matches.

Confirming the signing, Levante said in a statement that the Belgian forward would join the squad in the coming days to begin preparations under Castro.

Musuayi began his football career with KSKL Ternat before progressing through the youth setups of AFC Tubize, FCV Dender, KAA Gent, KSC Lokeren and KMSK Deinze. He made his senior debut for Deinze in 2024 before moving to Club Brugge later that year, where he continued his development with Club NXT.

He has also represented Belgium at the Under-18 and Under-19 levels and is regarded as one of the country's emerging attacking talents.

Levante moved for Musuayi after homegrown striker Carlos Espi completed his transfer to Real Madrid on Friday, with the Spanish giants activating his reported €25 million release clause.

The 21-year-old Espi enjoyed a breakthrough 2025-26 season, scoring 11 La Liga goals, many of them during the closing stages of the campaign, to help Levante retain their top-flight status.

Musuayi is expected to play an important role in reshaping Levante's attack as the Valencia-based club prepares for the new La Liga season.
