New Delhi, Feb 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday lashed out at Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, dubbing her the “female Ghajini of Indian politics” and accusing her of expressing “selective outrage” over the alleged genocide in Gaza.
The remark, referencing the 2008 Bollywood film Ghajini — whose protagonist suffers from short-term memory loss — was used by the BJP to suggest that Gandhi had chosen to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Gaza while ignoring the October 7 attacks in Israel.

The war of words erupted after Priyanka Gandhi, MP from Wayanad, took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his two-day visit to Israel. In a post on X, she expressed hope that Modi would mention the alleged genocide in Gaza while addressing the Israeli Parliament and demand justice for the victims. She also stated that India must continue to show the light of truth, peace and justice to the world.
Reacting sharply, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia wrote on X, “The Female Ghajini of Indian politics is back!” He shared an old photograph of the Congress leader carrying a bag with “Palestine” written on it and alleged that while such gestures are easy, condemning the October 7 massacre of over 1,200 people and the reported abduction and assault of women required “moral courage.”
Bhatia further accused Gandhi of indulging in “votebank politics” and lacking conviction. “You might carry the fake Gandhi surname but you clearly lack the conviction and the courage.
#SelectiveOutrage,” he posted.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Israel, his second in nine years, is aimed at strengthening bilateral defence and trade cooperation between the two countries.
