Long Beach, Mar 2: A fatal shooting occurred near the grand opening of Marathon Burger, a restaurant linked to the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, police said on Sunday.

The incident was reported at around 3:32 PM on the 200 block of Pine Avenue. Authorities confirmed multiple people were shot; one person died from injuries, while two others remain in stable condition.

Marathon Burger, founded by Hussle and continued by his brother Samiel Asghedom, is part of the rapper’s Marathon brand, known for its signature smash burgers. The shooting took place during the restaurant’s opening event.

Long Beach police have not disclosed a motive or any suspect details, and the investigation is ongoing.
