Patna, Mar 7: Tragedy struck in the Bahadurganj police station area of Bihar’s Kishanganj district on Friday night when a speeding car collided with a motorcycle, killing three people and injuring another, police said on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Shadab, Mohammad Nazir, and Shah Alam. One injured person is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The accident has cast a shadow over Shah Alam’s family, as he had recently married on January 24. The young bride and family members are reportedly devastated, and the local community has been mourning the sudden loss.

According to police, the collision occurred near Khaikhat, and locals immediately informed authorities. A team from Bahadurganj Police Station reached the scene, controlled the situation, and transported the bodies to Kishanganj Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Gautam Kumar confirmed that legal action has been initiated and that the police are working to trace the driver of the car. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered, and authorities are scanning CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its registration number.

The incident has renewed concerns over road safety in Bihar, particularly at night, according to local residents. A similar tragedy occurred on February 5 on National Highway 27 near the Veer Kunwar Singh Bus Stand in Kishanganj, when three friends riding a motorcycle lost control and collided with a truck, killing all three. Witnesses reported that the impact threw the riders 20–25 metres from the scene.

These incidents underline the urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and road safety measures in the region.
