Dr Nagalakshmi Chaudhary visits Wenlock District Hospital, assures support to acid attack survivor

Mangaluru, March. 8: Chairperson of the Karnataka State Women’s Commission, Dr Nagalakshmi Chaudhary, today visited the women’s wards at Wenlock District Hospital and interacted with an acid attack survivor undergoing treatment there.

During her visit, Dr Chaudhary spoke with the victim, offered words of comfort, and assured her of the commission’s support and necessary relief measures.

She also reviewed the hospital facilities and the treatment being provided, praising the authorities for the medical care extended to patients.

Nursing officials informed her of a shortage of staff and the heavy workload faced while performing their duties. Responding to their concerns, Dr Chaudhary said she would discuss the matter with Harsh Gupta, principal secretary of the Health Department, and take the necessary steps to address the issue.

She commended the hospital administration and staff for their dedication and for providing treatment and care to patients despite the challenges posed by limited resources.
