The programme was presided over by Sahakara Ratna Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank. The chief guests included Fr Vincent Coelho, parish priest of Holy Cross Church Byndoor; Ganesh Karanth; Fayaz Ali; and Shaila. Also present on the dais were Dr Elroy Saldanha, Elroy K Crasto, Sunil Menezes and Sandeep Quadros.

The free medical health camp organised by Fr Muller Medical College Hospital, Mangaluru, was inaugurated by the dignitaries on the dais by lighting the ceremonial lamp, marking the commencement of the programme.
As part of the celebrations, a ceremonial cake-cutting was conducted by ten founder customers of the Byndoor branch, representing the entire customer community. The event took place in the presence of the chairman, chief guests, the branch manager and other dignitaries, symbolising the branch’s achievement of Rs 10 crore in business turnover within six months of its opening.
On the occasion, the founder customers of the Byndoor branch were felicitated by chairman Anil Lobo in recognition of their trust, encouragement and foundational support extended to the branch since its inception. Their patronage played a crucial role in enabling the branch to reach the Rs 10 crore milestone in a remarkably short period.
On behalf of the entire customer community, the chairman honoured them and expressed the bank’s gratitude for their continued support and confidence in MCC Bank.
In his presidential address, Anil Lobo said that the Byndoor branch achieving Rs 10 crore turnover within six months was a historic achievement for MCC Bank. He noted that although the bank traditionally celebrates Women’s Day at its head office every year, the management had decided this year to celebrate International Women’s Day at the Byndoor branch to mark the milestone.
Recalling the branch’s inauguration, he said that some people had expressed doubts about its success. However, the large gathering at the inauguration itself reflected strong public support, which later translated into business growth. He noted that such a large gathering had not been seen at the opening of any other branch of the bank.
“This clearly showed the strong support of the people of the area for the branch. On that very day, we believed that the Byndoor branch would grow successfully,” he said, thanking the people of Byndoor for helping the branch achieve the ?10 crore target within a short span.
He further observed that the milestone indicates the rapid development of the Byndoor region. Lobo added that MCC Bank has been progressing steadily and that when the present management assumed charge in 2018, the bank crossed a turnover of Rs 1500 crore within just seven years. He said that this achievement was possible because of the support of board members, staff and customers.
The chairman also said that the bank would soon provide all the facilities available in nationalised banks, especially digital banking services, and that efforts were being made to upgrade the digital platform. He appealed for continued customer support to help expand the bank across the state of Karnataka.
Lobo also thanked Fr Muller Medical College Hospital for organising the medical camp for the people of Byndoor and appreciated the valuable healthcare services provided by the institution. He noted that many people had benefited from the camp and encouraged the public to utilise the services offered by the hospital. He also conveyed his best wishes to Dr Elroy Saldanha and the medical team who rendered their services during the camp.
Extending greetings on International Women’s Day, he said that women today are the backbone of the nation and are excelling in every field. He added that women are increasingly taking up leadership roles and that challenges are inevitable in leadership, but success can be achieved if these challenges are approached with a positive mindset. He also thanked the customers of the Byndoor branch for their continued support.
He further appreciated the contribution of Branch support director Elroy K Crasto for organising the programme and for his efforts in helping the branch achieve the ?10 crore milestone.
In his keynote address, Fr Vincent Coelho expressed happiness over the branch achieving a turnover of Rs 10 crore within a short period. He said that the achievement was possible because of the trust and commitment shown by the customers and the people of the Byndoor region, along with the bank’s strict adherence to rules and regulations.
He noted that the bank has grown steadily due to the confidence reposed in it by its customers and appreciated the leadership of chairman Anil Lobo for the bank’s progress. “This bank belongs to both the management and the customers — ours and yours,” he said, adding that facilities available in nationalised banks are also provided by MCC Bank. Modern banking facilities, a clean environment and customer-friendly services are available at all its branches.
He stated that the bank currently operates 21 branches across Karnataka and is progressing well. He expressed hope that under the leadership of the present board, the bank would continue to grow and serve people across the state.
Extending greetings on International Women’s Day, he said that women in India live with honour and dignity and emphasised the importance of self-development among women. He also highlighted the significant role played by women in self-help groups and urged the community to support and respect women’s efforts towards self-improvement.
Fr Coelho also expressed confidence that the Byndoor branch would achieve another Rs 10 crore turnover within the next six months and encouraged the people of the region to contribute to this success.
He appreciated the decision to organise a free medical camp rather than celebrating the occasion in a grand or extravagant manner and thanked everyone involved in making the camp possible. He concluded by praying for God’s blessings upon the bank and its customers.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, women customers of the Byndoor branch were honoured by chairman Anil Lobo with shawls, gifts and roses in recognition of their association with the bank and their contribution to the branch’s growth. Women staff members who attended the programme were also felicitated.
The event celebrated the spirit and achievements of women while acknowledging the collaborative efforts of bank staff and partner institutions in serving the community. The branch manager and staff of the Byndoor branch, along with Branch Support Director Elroy K Crasto, were honoured for their dedicated service.
Mementoes were presented to the dignitaries by chairman Anil Lobo as a token of appreciation for their presence and guidance.
The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by bank staff member Manoj Lopes and singer Treeza Lopez, followed by a documentary presentation showcasing the journey of MCC Bank and the progress achieved under the present management.
Branch support director Elroy K Crasto welcomed the gathering. Ovin Rebello compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
