Indian youth boxers shine at World Futures Cup in Bangkok

Bangkok, Mar 13: The Indian Youth boxing team produced an impressive display on the fifth day of the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 in Bangkok, with Gunjan, Radhamani Longjam, and Chandrika Pujari registering standout victories.

Gunjan kicked off the day with a commanding 5-0 unanimous decision win over her Polish opponent. Radhamani Longjam followed up with a dominant performance, defeating Ecuador’s contender in the first round via Referee Stopped Contest (RSC).

In the men’s division, Priyansh Sehrawat (70kg) faced a tough challenge and lost 5-0 to Morocco, while Prachi suffered a 5-0 defeat against Slovakia.

Chandrika Pujari (50kg) closed the day on a high note, securing a 5-0 unanimous decision victory over the United States in the evening session, further boosting India’s medal hopes.

The week-long World Boxing Futures Cup, running from March 8 to 15, brings together young talents from across the globe competing in Youth Olympic weight categories, offering crucial international experience and preparation for future global competitions.
