UP CM says defeated parties question constitutional institutions

Kaithal (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 14: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday accused political parties rejected by voters of trying to undermine India’s constitutional institutions after losing public confidence.

Speaking at a public gathering in Kaithal, the chief minister said that leaders who have been “shown the door” by the electorate are now spreading misinformation and attempting to create instability because they are unable to succeed through democratic means.

“They sometimes target the Lok Sabha Speaker, at other times the judiciary or the Election Commission. When they win elections, they claim the credit, but when they lose, they blame constitutional institutions. Such selective behaviour cannot be accepted,” he said.

Adityanath urged citizens to remain united and prevent the spread of disorder, stressing the importance of the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”. He also linked the country’s unity with cultural identity, saying the security of the nation and the protection of Sanatan Dharma are interconnected.

Referring to the international situation, the Chief Minister said conflicts in the Gulf region could have economic consequences globally, but maintained that India continues to advance steadily on the development path.

“Despite global challenges, India is moving forward with confidence. The country’s progress is driven by the hard work of farmers and guided by strong leadership. The 145 crore citizens of India stand united and have complete faith in the nation’s leadership,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Adityanath attended religious ceremonies organised in memory of the late Brahmaleen Shri Mahant Peer Ganesh Nath Ji at Baba Mukut Nath Math in Soungal village. The events included the ‘Athwan Bhandara’, ‘Deshmel’ and ‘Shankhadhal’ rituals, where the Chief Minister paid tribute to the departed saint.

During a Dharma Sabha, Adityanath also raised concerns about drug abuse and alleged that Pakistan is attempting to push narcotics into India as part of a broader conspiracy.

He called on religious leaders and social organisations to actively spread awareness against drug addiction, describing narcotics trafficking as a threat to both national security and the country’s youth.

“Addiction leads to destruction. Efforts to fight drug abuse are a service to the nation. Those involved in drug trafficking are enemies of the country because they endanger our youth and our future,” he said.

The chief minister emphasised that India’s young population holds immense potential and must be safeguarded from the dangers of addiction through collective social awareness.
