The railway authorities also released cumulative figures for the 2025–26 financial year, noting that a total of 10,368 special ticket-checking operations have been conducted up to the end of February. During these drives, officials identified 4,54,849 ticketless and unauthorised passengers and collected Rs 25.21 crore in penalties, which has been credited to the railway treasury.

KRCL said the special enforcement drives are being carried out both on trains and at railway stations, with active support from railway officials and the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

In the statement, KRCL officials urged passengers travelling on Konkan Railway services to purchase valid tickets before commencing their journey to avoid inconvenience during inspections.

They further warned that ticket-checking operations will be intensified across all Konkan Railway routes in the coming days, reiterating that strict enforcement is necessary to discourage ticketless travel and ensure a fair and orderly travel system for genuine passengers.
