Barcelona, Mar 23: Ronald Araujo scored a first-half header to guide FC Barcelona to a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga, with goalkeeper Joan Garcia delivering a standout performance.
The win keeps Barcelona at the top of the LaLiga standings with 73 points, seven ahead of Real Madrid, who have a game in hand.
Araujo netted the decisive goal in the 24th minute, heading in from a corner delivered by Joao Cancelo, rising above Pathe Ciss to find the net.
While Barcelona dominated early, it was Garcia who proved crucial, making a series of saves to deny Rayo an equaliser. The 24-year-old set the tone early by stopping Carlos Martin and continued to impress throughout the match.

Barcelona had chances to extend their lead, with Raphinha missing a one-on-one and later hitting the crossbar.
Rayo Vallecano pushed hard after the break, with Alvaro Garcia, Isi Palazon and Pacha Espino coming close, but Garcia’s reflexes kept Barcelona ahead.
He capped his performance with a late save to deny Jorge de Frutos, securing all three points.
Barcelona’s victory strengthens their title defence and puts pressure on Real Madrid ahead of their clash with Atletico Madrid.
