Mumbai, Mar 23: India delivered an impressive performance at the Global Esports Games, with Anuhith Gosala winning gold in Clash Royale after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Miras in the grand finals.

The final was a nail-biting contest, with both players trading wins before Gosala sealed the title in a dramatic decider, earning top honours for Team India in front of a packed home crowd. Earlier, India had defeated the United States 2-1 in the lower bracket finals to book their place in the summit clash, avenging a prior loss to Kazakhstan in the upper bracket stage.

In DOTA 2, India secured a bronze medal after falling to Mongolia in the lower bracket finals. The gold medal in the category was claimed by Türkiye, which defeated Mongolia 3-1 in the final.

Expressing his emotions after the victory, Gosala described the moment as “surreal,” especially winning on home soil. He highlighted the intense preparation and pressure leading up to the final and said the support from the crowd made the triumph even more meaningful.

Paul J. Foster, president and ceo of the Global Esports Federation, praised Mumbai’s hosting of the event, calling it a celebration of global unity through esports and commending the energy and hospitality displayed.

The tournament, inaugurated by Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, saw participation from 48 elite athletes representing 19 nations over four days. With the conclusion of the Mumbai World Finals, the next edition of the Global Esports Games is set to take place in Los Angeles later this year.
