Ambulance driver killed in hit-and-run near Dharangaon

Jalgaon, Mar 30: A tragic road accident near Dharangaon in Jalgaon district claimed the life of Avinash Chaudhary (35), son of former Dharangaon municipal vice-president Pratibha Chaudhary, on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 1 pm near Borgaon when Avinash was travelling in his Swift Dzire car towards Erandol for personal work. An unidentified vehicle coming from the opposite direction rammed into his car with great force, causing it to overturn.

Avinash sustained severe injuries to his chest and head and died on the spot due to the impact.

Local residents rushed to the spot and attempted rescue, but he had already succumbed to his injuries. He was later taken to the Government Medical College in Jalgaon, where relatives and friends gathered in large numbers.

Avinash was working as an ambulance driver. He is survived by his wife, two children, parents and two brothers.

The incident has cast a pall of gloom over Dharangaon and surrounding areas. A case of accidental death has been registered at Gangapur police station, and efforts are on to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
