Goa youths file complaint over alleged overseas job scam

Panaji, Apr 2: Nine young residents of Benaulim have filed a complaint at the Margao Police Station, accusing an agent from Navelim of allegedly defrauding them under the pretext of securing jobs in Belgium.

According to the complainants, the agent promised overseas employment and collected money while assuring them of visa processing and confirmed job placements. However, the opportunities never materialised, leading the youths to seek police intervention.

Supporting the victims, Venzy Viegas, MLA from Benaulim, accompanied them to the police station and backed their complaint. He called on authorities to carry out a detailed investigation and ensure strict action against those responsible for allegedly exploiting job seekers.

Police are expected to examine the allegations and take appropriate steps based on the findings.
