Ulaanbaatar, Apr 7: India continued their dominant run at the Asian Boxing Championships 2026 with eight boxers — six women and two men — storming into the finals in Ulaanbaatar.

Leading the charge, Minakshi secured a convincing 4:1 win over Thailand’s Thipsatcha Yodwaree in the women’s 48kg semifinal to book her place in the gold medal bout. Jaismine also advanced after edging Uzbekistan’s Nigina Uktamova 3:2 in a closely fought 57kg semifinal.

In the men’s category, Vishvanath Suresh delivered a dominant 5:0 victory over Jordan’s Huthaifa Eshish in the 50kg semifinal, while Sachin impressed with a 4:1 win against Thailand’s Sakda Ruamtham in the 60kg category.

India will now aim to convert these strong performances into gold medals in the finals. Minakshi will face Mongolia’s Nomundari Enkh-Amgalan in the 48kg final, while Jaismine is set to take on Thailand’s Punrawee Ruenros in the 57kg title clash.

In other key finals, Preeti will compete against Chinese Taipei’s Huang Hsiao-wen in the 54kg category, Priya will face North Korea’s Un Gyong Won, and Arundhati Choudhary will take on Kazakhstan’s Bakyt Seidish in the 70kg final.

With a strong presence across weight categories, India’s campaign now shifts focus to clinching multiple gold medals at the continental event.
