Mangaluru, Apr 9: The final preparations are now reaching their peak for the much-awaited musical extravaganza ‘Kala Sangam’, presented by the SSVP Bondel unit in association with Daijiworld media. Set to take place this Sunday, April 12, at 5.30 pm on the grounds of St Lawrence Shrine in Bondel, the event is the inspired concept of parish priest Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza. His vision is to bring together the entire spectrum of the Konkani community—including artistes, generous donors, and art enthusiasts—to support a noble cause under a single roof. A highlight of the evening will be the formal stone blessing ceremony for a housing project for the needy initiated by the SVP, alongside a special ceremony to recognize veteran artists for their lifelong contributions to the Konkani entertainment industry.

The musical line-up features an incredible blend of legendary voices and modern sensations, headlined by the renowned Sangeeth Sardar Wilson Olivera. He will be joined on stage by popular vocalists including Shilpa Cutina, Joshal D’Souza, Zeena Pereira, Robin Sequeira, Roshan Belman, Jason Lobo, Dealle D’Souza, Ronald Nazareth, Vincent Fernandes Cascia, and Stephan Cutinha. The performance schedule also includes the Trio-fame singers Ronald D’Souza, Ronald Lasrado, and Ronald Lobo, as well as Leona Olivera of Jigibigi Taram fame. Adding to the melodic depth of the night are the Fr Walter Albuquerque Memorial Choir led by Simon Bajal and the Chili Pili children’s choir led by Jasmine D’Souza.

Entertainment beyond the music will be provided by Konkani’s top-tier comedy team Memory, who are prepared to deliver high-energy humour to the crowd, while the Urban Groove dancers are set to perform choreographed artistic moves. The show's sonic landscape is being crafted by noted music director Sanjay Rodrigues, supported by a talented band consisting of Roshan Crasta Bela, Melwyn Leema Shimoga, Sanjeeth Rodrigues, Prajwal Frontiero, Staline Fernandes, and Veekshith Kodacha. Known TV host Shanthi Priya Lasrado will be the master of ceremonies for the show. Curated by Stany Bela, Kala Sangam 2026 promises to be a landmark cultural celebration and remains open and free for all members of the public to attend.
