Mangaluru, Apr 11: The 3rd Karnataka State Arm Wrestling and Para Arm Wrestling Championship 2026 was inaugurated on Saturday at the Town Hall in Mangaluru. The event is being organized by the Dakshina Kannada Arm Wrestling Association in association with the Karnataka Arm Wrestlers Association and is affiliated with the People’s Arm Wrestling Federation India (PAFI).
The championship witnessed an enthusiastic start, with participants and sports enthusiasts gathering from across the state. The two-day event, scheduled for April 11 and 12, aims to promote arm wrestling as a competitive sport while also encouraging para athletes to showcase their strength and talent.

















The inaugural ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including entrepreneur Sunil Xavier, retired DySP and bodybuilder Valentin D’Souza, MCC Bank president Anil Lobo, deputy director of the youth services and sports department Pradeep D’Souza, former international athlete Krishna Shenai, state secretary Deepak, and Daijiworld media founder Walter Nandalike. Other prominent attendees included Sujith, Raymond D’Souza, and Lakshman Kunder.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the organizers in promoting arm wrestling and providing a platform for both able-bodied and para athletes. They emphasized the importance of such championships in encouraging youth participation in sports and fostering inclusivity.
The championship is expected to witness intense competition over the two days, with athletes competing across various weight categories, highlighting strength, technique, and determination.
The event is continuing at the Town Hall in Mangaluru, drawing attention from sports lovers and the local community alike.
