India women face South Africa in T20I series opener on Apr 17

Durban, Apr 17: The India women's national cricket team will take on the South Africa women's national cricket team in the opening match of a five-match T20I series at Kingsmead Cricket Ground, Durban, on Friday. The match is scheduled to begin at 9.30 pm IST.

The second match will also be held at the same venue on Sunday, while the third and fourth games will be played at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on April 22 and 25 respectively. The final match of the series is slated for April 27 at Willowmoor Park in Benoni.

The series assumes significance as it serves as crucial preparation ahead of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, which is less than two months away. Both teams are expected to use the matches to fine-tune their combinations and strategies for the upcoming global tournament scheduled in June.
