‘Awarapan 2’ set for August 2026 release, reunites Emraan Hashmi and Vishesh Bhatt

Mumbai, Apr 21: The much-awaited sequel to the cult classic Awarapan is officially on the way, with makers announcing that Awarapan 2 will hit theatres worldwide on August 14, 2026.

Actor Emraan Hashmi shared the update on social media, marking his reunion with filmmaker-producer Vishesh Bhatt. The duo is returning to continue the story of Shivam, a character that gained a strong following over the years.

Speaking about the project, Bhatt described the sequel as a cinematic experience designed for the big screen, combining ??????? settings with emotionally layered storytelling. He noted that Hashmi quickly reconnected with the intensity of his character, while the addition of Disha Patani brings a fresh dynamic to the narrative.

Patani, known for films like Baaghi 2, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, and Kalki 2898 AD, is collaborating with Vishesh Films for the first time. Her inclusion is expected to expand the emotional and visual scope of the sequel.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui, the film is currently in its final stages of production in Mumbai.

The original Awarapan, though modest at the box office during its initial release, gradually earned cult status ????????? its emotional storytelling and memorable music. Songs like Tera Mera Rishta and Toh Phir Aao remain popular even today, contributing to the film’s enduring legacy.
