Israeli strikes hit Southern Lebanon, mosque damaged amid ceasefire breach claims

Daijiworld Media Network – Beirut

Beirut, Apr 22: Israeli forces carried out air strikes across southern Lebanon on Tuesday, causing extensive damage to a mosque and triggering allegations of a violation of the 10-day ceasefire agreement.

Reports said the strikes targeted multiple locations in southern Lebanon, with one of the attacks severely damaging a mosque, raising concerns over escalating tensions despite the ceasefire in place.

Lebanese sources accused Israel of breaching the truce, saying the latest strikes undermined efforts to maintain calm in the border region.

The air raids come amid fragile conditions along the Israel-Lebanon frontier, where sporadic hostilities have continued despite diplomatic efforts aimed at sustaining the ceasefire.

There was no immediate official response from Israeli authorities on the reported strike or the allegations of violating the ceasefire.

The development has renewed fears of fresh escalation in the region as concerns grow over the stability of the truce.
