Beltangady: Absconding accused held in 2017 highway robbery case

Beltangady, Apr 29: Dharmasthala police have arrested the second accused who had been absconding after failing to appear before the Beltangady court in connection with a 2017 robbery case in which a lorry was intercepted and looted on the national highway at Rekhya village.

The arrested accused has been identified as Mani alias Manikanta (32), a resident of Banashankari, Bengaluru.

A police team led by Dharmasthala police sub-inspector Samartha R Ganigere apprehended the accused near Banashankari Market in Bengaluru based on credible information and produced him before the judge of the Puttur court.

The court remanded the accused to judicial custody.
