New Delhi, Apr 30: Air India Express on Thursday announced the resumption of its flight operations to Qatar and Bahrain, along with an expansion of services across key Gulf destinations, effective April 30, 2026.
With the restoration of these routes, the airline has re-established connectivity from several major Indian cities and regional hubs, including Amritsar, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kannur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram and Varanasi.

The airline will continue to operate flights to prominent destinations in the Gulf region, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Al Ain in the UAE; Muscat in Oman; and Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia, in addition to Bahrain and Doha in Qatar. Services to Kuwait will also remain part of its international network.
Backed by the Tata Group, the airline currently operates more than 500 daily flights, connecting 45 domestic and 17 international destinations across South, Southeast and West Asia. Its fleet includes over 100 aircraft, comprising Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 models.
Earlier this week, one of the airline’s flights from Delhi to Bhubaneswar was briefly diverted to Jaipur due to adverse weather conditions. Flight IX-1057 made a precautionary landing in Jaipur before resuming its journey once conditions improved.
The airline confirmed that the aircraft landed safely and later continued to its destination without any incidents. It also expressed regret over the delay, attributing it to weather conditions beyond its control.
