Dubai, May 4: The General Civil Aviation Authority has announced the full restoration of normal air navigation operations across the country’s airspace, along with the withdrawal of temporary precautionary measures. Following this development, airlines from both India and the UAE have begun increasing flight services between the two countries, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that air travel conditions across the Middle East are steadily improving, with more flights being operated between the region and various Indian destinations.

Operations have resumed or expanded across several Gulf countries. Flights continue to run from airports in Saudi Arabia and Oman to India, while Qatar’s airspace has been partially reopened. Airlines such as Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo, and Qatar Airways are operating services between Qatar and India.

In Kuwait, where airspace remains open, Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways are operating regular flights to India. Similarly, Bahrain’s airspace is fully operational, with Air India Express, IndiGo, and Gulf Air maintaining connectivity to Indian cities.

In Iraq, airspace has been partially opened for limited regional operations that can facilitate onward travel to India. Iran’s airspace remains partially open for cargo and charter flights, and Indian authorities have advised citizens to avoid non-essential travel there. The Indian Embassy in Tehran has already assisted in the movement of 2,504 Indian nationals via land border routes.

Israel’s airspace is also open, with limited regional flight operations resuming and supporting connectivity to India.

The Ministry said it continues to closely monitor the situation across the Gulf and West Asia, focusing on ensuring the safety and welfare of Indian citizens abroad. Indian embassies and consulates remain in constant contact with local authorities and operate 24/7 helplines to assist nationals.

Authorities are also issuing updated travel advisories and coordinating with state and Union Territory governments to ensure timely information sharing and coordinated support for Indian travellers and expatriates.
