Israel not honouring ceasefire, says Palestinian leader

Daijiworld Media Network - Gaza

Gaza, May 4: Mustafa Barghouti has accused Israel of failing to implement the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, alleging continued violations that are worsening the humanitarian situation.

Barghouti said that despite a ceasefire reportedly brokered with involvement from the United States, Israel has not fully complied with its commitments. He claimed that ongoing actions on the ground suggest a pattern aimed at “increasing suffering” among civilians in Gaza.

Referring to former US President Donald Trump, Barghouti criticised Washington’s inability to ensure adherence to the agreement, stating that efforts to enforce the ceasefire have fallen short.

He further called on the international community to take stronger action, including imposing sanctions on Israel, to ensure accountability and prevent further escalation.

The situation in Gaza remains tense, with repeated allegations of ceasefire violations raising concerns over stability and humanitarian conditions in the region.
