Dubai, May 5: India national cricket team have strengthened their hold on the top position in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, continuing their dominant run in the shortest format of the game.
Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India sit comfortably at No. 1 with 275 rating points. Although their lead has slightly narrowed, they remain well ahead of England cricket team (262 points), while Australia national cricket team follow closely in third with 258 points.
The updated rankings reflect matches played since May 2025 with full weightage, and those from the preceding two years at 50 percent. India’s consistent success—including back-to-back ICC Men’s T20 World Cup victories in 2024 and 2026 and an unbeaten run in bilateral series—has cemented their position at the summit.

There has been no change among the top seven teams, highlighting stability at the top level. New Zealand national cricket team (247) remain fourth, followed by South Africa national cricket team (244) in fifth. Pakistan national cricket team (240) and West Indies cricket team (233) hold sixth and seventh positions respectively.
In the mid-table, Bangladesh national cricket team have climbed to eighth after a slight rating boost, while Sri Lanka national cricket team slipped to ninth following a drop in points. Afghanistan national cricket team are close behind in tenth, underlining the growing competition.
Among notable movers, the United States national cricket team jumped two spots to 13th, overtaking the Netherlands national cricket team and Scotland national cricket team. Namibia national cricket team held steady at 16th, while Nepal national cricket team and Oman national cricket team each moved up a place.
Further down the rankings, the Italy national cricket team recorded one of the biggest gains, climbing three spots to 23rd. Spain national cricket team and Cyprus national cricket team also showed improvement, while Mozambique national cricket team suffered a significant drop, falling 15 places.
