Southern Lebanon, May 9: The Israeli military on Saturday issued urgent evacuation orders to residents of more than half a dozen villages in southern Lebanon, warning of imminent military action targeting Hezbollah positions despite an existing ceasefire agreement.
In a statement posted on social media, the Israel Defense Forces (Israel Defense Forces) said it was preparing to carry out forceful operations in response to what it described as violations of the truce by Hezbollah.

Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson, identified nine villages and urged civilians to leave immediately, stating that residents should move at least 1,000 metres away from populated areas into open spaces for their safety.
The warning comes amid continued tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, despite a ceasefire framework intended to halt cross-border hostilities along the Lebanon-Israel frontier. The IDF said its planned action was a response to what it called ongoing militant activity in violation of the agreement.
Residents in the affected areas were advised to evacuate without delay as military escalation appeared imminent.
