Kandivli road accident claims life of 52-year-old pedestrian; police register FIR

Mumbai, May 17: A 52-year-old man died after being hit by a two-wheeler while crossing a road in Kandivli West, with police registering a case of rash and negligent driving against the rider.

The deceased, Pir Mohammad Hasan Shaikh, a resident of Kharodi in Malad, was walking near the Kandivli Industrial Estate in Ganesh Nagar on May 13 around 10:45 pm when the accident occurred.

According to the family, Shaikh’s younger son received a call from his father’s phone shortly after the incident. The caller informed them that he had been injured in a road accident and had been taken to Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivli.

When family members reached the hospital, doctors declared him dead.

Investigations revealed that Shaikh was crossing the road when a motorcycle hit him. The rider, identified as Bharat Nangre, along with his pillion passenger Rahul Yadav, reportedly took the injured man to the hospital after the accident.

Based on a statement from the victim’s son Imtiaz Shaikh, the Charkop Police registered an FIR against the motorcyclist for negligence and rash driving.
