Panaji, May 18: The Bridge Federation of India has announced that the fifth Asia Cup Bridge Championships will be held from June 21 to 27 at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon in Goa.

Organised once every four years, the tournament is regarded as one of the most prestigious continental bridge championships in Asia and Oceania.

More than 20 countries, including India, China and Japan, are expected to participate in the championship with top-ranked teams competing across multiple categories.

The event aims to strengthen India’s position as a destination for international intellectual sporting events while also promoting Goa as a major sporting tourism hub.

The championship will feature competitions in men’s, women’s, mixed and senior team categories, along with open and mixed pairs events.

India, which has won 20 medals in previous editions of the championship, will look to improve its tally further during the upcoming tournament.

The event will conclude on June 27 with a special ‘Friendship Pairs Event’ open to all registered participants.
