Mangaluru, Jun 22: Radiating the spirit of wellness, vitality, and inner harmony, the students of grade VI A, B, and C of Ladyhill School (ICSE), Urwa, celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with immense enthusiasm, energy, and zeal.

The vibrant celebration showcased the students’ commitment to a healthy lifestyle, highlighting the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and mindful living through the timeless practice of yoga.

The celebration began with a prayer service, seeking god's blessings for peace, good health, happiness, and well-being. This was followed by a vibrant welcome dance that captivated the audience with its energy and grace. The performance reflected the spirit of harmony and positivity, setting a joyful tone for the event and inspiring everyone to embrace the values of wellness and balance promoted by yoga.

Ashel Rego and Diya Deekshitha enthusiastically welcomed the gathering and had the honour of introducing the esteemed chief guest, Kavita Ashok, a distinguished yoga instructor and Indian Book of Records holder for Padma Shirshasana. Highlighting her remarkable achievements and dedication to promoting yoga, they warmly welcomed her to the event and set an inspiring tone for a celebration focused on health, wellness, and inner harmony.

The celebration was further enhanced by the presence of administrator Sr Ida Barboza, who was warmly welcomed by Principal Sr Teena. As a token of gratitude, the guests were presented with flower saplings, symbolising growth, strength, and harmony—values that reflect the essence of yoga.

Ayisha Shiza, Chinmayee, and Jenisha Ferrao eloquently highlighted the significance of International Yoga Day, emphasising the role of yoga in promoting physical health, mental wellness, and emotional balance. Adding vibrancy to the celebration, students presented an impressive yoga demonstration, performing a variety of asanas with precision, flexibility, and confidence. Their synchronised display beautifully showcased the essence of yoga as a path to harmony, mindfulness, and holistic well-being.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Kavita Ashok, captivated the audience with her inspiring message on the power of yoga to transform lives.
