Mangaluru, Jun 24: Ladyhill School (ICSE), Urwa, Mangaluru, celebrated its investiture ceremony for the academic year 2026–27 on Saturday, June 20, in the school hall. Filled with pride and enthusiasm, the ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected Student Cabinet, entrusting them with the responsibility of leading the school. The young leaders pledged to uphold the values and vision of the institution through dedicated service and exemplary leadership.

The ceremony began on a grand note as the rhythmic beats of the school band ushered the chief guest, retired Lieutenant Colonel Gracian Sequeira, principal Sr Therese Teena AC, administrator Sr Ida Barboza AC, vice principal Lavita Correa, head boy Pranad, head girl Krithika Ganesh, and the newly elected cabinet members into the school hall. The dignified procession created an atmosphere of pride and anticipation, setting the stage for a memorable celebration of leadership.

The programme commenced with a prayer service, invoking God’s blessings on the dignitaries, student leaders, and the entire school. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, along with head girl Krithika Ganesh and head boy Pranad, symbolising wisdom, knowledge, and enlightenment, and setting a solemn yet inspiring tone for the ceremony.

A vibrant welcome dance then filled the atmosphere with energy and joy. The dancers’ lively performance and graceful coordination captivated the audience and set a cheerful tone for the programme.

Adding warmth and grace to the occasion, head girl Krithika Ganesh extended a cordial welcome to the gathering and introduced the chief guest, retired lieutenant colonel Gracian Sequeira. A distinguished leader, accomplished sportsman, inspiring motivational speaker, and polyglot fluent in nine languages, he exemplifies the values of courage, commitment, and exemplary leadership.

The highlight of the ceremony was the official investiture of the student cabinet for the academic year 2026–27. The occasion marked the formal conferring of leadership responsibilities on the newly elected student leaders.

The chief guest invested head boy Pranad with the sash and badge, while principal Sr Therese Teena AC and administrator Sr Ida Barboza conferred the sash and badge respectively on head girl Krithika Ganesh. The oath of office was then administered, followed by the collective oath led by the head boy and head girl, in which the cabinet ministers, squad leaders, and assistants pledged to discharge their duties with integrity, dedication, and commitment.

In an inspiring and thought-provoking address, chief guest retired lieutenant colonel Gracian Sequeira shared his remarkable journey from soldier to Army Officer, emphasizing the importance of determination, perseverance, and hard work. Drawing inspiration from the achievements of Arunima Sinha and Bachendri Pal, he encouraged students to face challenges with courage and resilience. He urged them to dream big, remain disciplined, and believe in their abilities, while also reminding them to cherish and appreciate the unwavering support and sacrifices of their parents.

Principal Sr Therese Teena AC congratulated head boy Pranad, head girl Krithika Ganesh, and the newly elected student cabinet. She inspired them to lead with integrity, responsibility, and a spirit of service, reminding them that true leadership is reflected in their actions. Wishing them success, she encouraged them to work with dedication for the welfare of the school.
