Milagres PU College inaugurates student clubs with inspiring message on leadership and empathy

Mangalore, Jun 25: The inauguration of various student clubs for the academic year 2026–27 was held with great enthusiasm at Milagres Pre-University College, Hampanakatta, on Wednesday, June 24, at the College Auditorium.

The programme began with a prayer by the college choir and a warm welcome to the dignitaries and participants. The clubs were formally inaugurated by the chief guest, Vivid D’Souza, assistant professor, St Aloysius Deemed to be University, Mangaluru.

In her inspiring address, Vivid D’Souza encouraged students to actively involve themselves in club activities and make the best use of the opportunities provided by the college. She emphasized that every individual is a leader in their own way and highlighted the importance of leadership qualities in shaping one’s future. She also stressed the need to cultivate empathy, compassion, and concern for others, stating that true leadership is not merely about leading from the front but about understanding and supporting people around us.

Principal Melwin Vas felicitated the chief guest with a bouquet and presented a memento as a token of gratitude and appreciation. All the club coordinators were also felicitated by the chief guest in recognition of their commitment and service.

The welcome address was delivered by Janitha Fernandes. The programme was gracefully compered by Wilma Fernandes, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Priya Shetty.

Student Council leaders president Zain Sheikh, vice president Sinchana, and secretary Samarth were present on the dais along with the dignitaries.

The event concluded with the College anthem.
