Mangaluru, Jun 25: The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), through its Indian Knowledge System Cell, organised International Yoga Day on Sunday, June 21, in association with Yuvanika Foundation and Delampady Yoga Prathistana at its campus in Bondel. The programme, held under the theme âYoga for Healthy Ageing,â brought together students, faculty members and representatives of the partner organisations.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Dr Prakash, medical officer, Naturopathy and Yoga, Department of AYUSH, Government of Karnataka, inaugurated the event. Yogarathna Gopalakrishna Delampady of Delampady Yoga Prathistana was the chief guest. Raghuveer S, operations and programme head, Yuvanika Foundation, and former district youth officer of NYKS, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, was also present. Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, director of MSNIM, presided over the programme.










In his inaugural address, Dr Prakash said yoga is far more than a system of physical exercise and is rooted in the eight-fold path comprising Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. He noted that yoga integrates the body, mind and spirit, helping individuals achieve physical well-being, mental clarity and inner balance. âYoga should be viewed as a way of life that promotes holistic development and personal transformation,â he said.
Raghuveer S highlighted the role of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being and encouraged young people to spread awareness about its benefits in society. In her presidential address, Dr Molly S Chaudhuri observed that yoga helps cultivate discipline, patience and consistency, qualities that are essential for personal and professional growth.
Yogarathna Gopalakrishna Delampady conducted a yoga session, demonstrating various yogasanas and explaining their benefits.
MBA student Arpitha welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Kripa, MBA student, proposed the vote of thanks, while Gayathri, MBA student, compered the programme. The programme was coordinated by Manasa, faculty member.
