Tehran, Jul 2: Iran's Parliament Speaker and senior negotiator Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf on Wednesday said inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will not be allowed to inspect nuclear facilities damaged in recent attacks.

Speaking in televised remarks, Qalibaf said the decision was based on legislation passed by the Iranian Parliament and a corresponding resolution adopted by the country's Supreme National Security Council.

"Under this law, no access whatsoever will be granted to sites that have been bombed and damaged," Qalibaf said.

He added that Iran would not permit any inspections beyond those authorised by the Supreme National Security Council.

According to Qalibaf, IAEA inspectors will only be allowed access to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and the Tehran Research Reactor.

His remarks come after a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States, reportedly brokered by Pakistan, came into effect on June 18 following its electronic signing by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump.

The agreement outlines a framework for ending hostilities that began in late February and resolving key issues between Washington and Tehran through negotiations. It includes provisions relating to a ceasefire across multiple fronts, including Lebanon, sanctions relief, Iran's nuclear programme, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and broader regional security arrangements.
