Mumbai, Mar 20: The consecration day of Sri Krishna Mandir of Bombay South Kanara Brahmin Association (BSKBA) at Gokul, Sion, was held on Monday March 19.
Vedamurti Gururaj Udupa, Hari Bhat, and temple celebrants performed Vedic rites and religious worship after the early morning worship on Monday.
Gokula Kala Vranda Bhajana Mandali presented devotional music along with devotees on the occasion.
Free food was offered on Monday afternoon to all the devotees gathered at the Mandir.
‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’, a mythological dance recital, was staged by over 35 artistes as part of the cultural programmes organized by Gopalakrishna Public Trust on Monday afternoon.
Yakshagana Taalamaddale ‘Tamra Dwaja Kalaga’ was staged for the first time by the all women troupe under the leadership of well-known Yakshagana artiste Geeta L Bhat, directed by renowned Yakshagana veteran Sheni Shyam Bhat. Sahana Bharadwaj, Shailini Rao, Prema Rao, Sahana Poti and Nalini Rao were the lead artistes at the Yakshagana. Renowned Yakshagana artistes Jayaprakash Niduvannaya, Madhusudan Palan, and Jagdish Shetty assisted in the playback music.
