'Daredevil' actress Wai Ching Ho passes away at 82

Los Angeles, Jul 12: Veteran actress Wai Ching Ho, best known for portraying the formidable Madame Gao in Marvel's Daredevil, passed away on Sunday at the age of 82.

The news of her demise was confirmed by her Daredevil co-star Peter Shinkoda, who paid an emotional tribute to the actress on social media. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.

Sharing photographs with Ho on Instagram, Shinkoda wrote, "I won't ever forget you. I learned every minute from you when we were together on and off set. We will meet again, my friend. You were beautiful.".

Actress Mahira Kakkar also remembered Ho with a heartfelt tribute, recalling their time together during the National Asian American Theatre Company's (NAATCO) 2018 off-Broadway production of Henry VI.

Describing her as warm, caring and immensely talented, Kakkar praised Ho's dedication to her craft and said she remained an inspiration to generations of actors.

Born in Hong Kong, Wai Ching Ho later moved to the United States, where she trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and built a successful career spanning nearly four decades across theatre, television and films.

She gained international recognition for her portrayal of Madame Gao in Marvel's Daredevil, earning praise for her commanding performance.

Apart from Daredevil, Ho appeared in several films, including The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Premium Rush and The Last Airbender. She also featured in popular television series such as Law & Order and Blue Bloods.

Widely respected for her contributions to stage and screen, Wai Ching Ho leaves behind a rich legacy in the entertainment industry.
