Mangaluru, Jul 13: Following the recent detection and arrest of illegal Bangladeshi laborers under the Surathkal police station limits, city police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has directed all stations within the commissionerate to launch a comprehensive verification drive.
As there are high possibilities of illegal immigrants working under the guise of migrant laborers in construction sectors, road works, industries, and fisheries, the commissioner has ordered field officers to conduct thoroughly monitored operations to identify and detain suspects. Furthermore, verbal instructions have been issued to entrepreneurs, contractors, and business owners to strictly scrutinize the identity documents of their workforce. Employers have been directed to immediately notify local police stations if any undocumented Bangladeshi nationals are found working for them.

The police department has also appealed to the general public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious individuals residing in their neighborhoods to the station officers or senior police officials. Authorities have assured that the identity of the informants will be kept strictly confidential.
Meanwhile, the eight illegal Bangladeshi nationals caught in Mukka remain detained at the temporary holding center, where police teams are continuing their interrogation to uncover larger human trafficking networks.
