Margao, Jul 20: Fatorda Police have arrested two key suspects in connection with the murder of Ali Kalandar Khanzade, marking a major breakthrough in the high-profile Gulistan Masjid murder investigation.
The arrests were carried out during a late-night operation led by Police Inspector Rahul and his team. According to police, investigators are now working to recover the vehicle allegedly used in the crime, along with cash and the suspected murder weapon.
The investigation is continuing, with police intensifying efforts to trace two more accused who remain on the run.

Officials identified the absconding suspects as Mehboob Makandar, who is believed to be the alleged mastermind behind the murder, and Altaf Sayed. Both have reportedly evaded arrest for the past six months.
Police said multiple teams have been deployed to locate the remaining accused and ensure that everyone allegedly involved in the case is brought to justice.
The killing of Ali Kalandar Khanzade, vice-president of the Gulistan Masjid at Gogol, had sparked widespread concern across the region earlier this year. Investigators said the probe remains active, with further arrests and recoveries expected as the investigation progresses.
