Pune, Jul 21: Pune Police have arrested four men for allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulting a 21-year-old college student over the past year after befriending her on Instagram and threatening to circulate her obscene videos.

According to the complaint, the victim, a first-year BA student, alleged that the accused repeatedly sexually assaulted her over the last year. She claimed the men exploited their friendship with her, recorded objectionable videos during the assaults and blackmailed her by threatening to make the videos public if she spoke out.

Unable to bear the alleged abuse any longer, the student approached Wagholi Police Station and lodged a complaint.

Police have registered a case against all four accused and taken them into custody. Further investigation is underway.

According to police, the victim was residing in the Viman Nagar area of Pune after securing admission to a reputed college in the city in 2025. During this period, she became acquainted with one of the accused through Instagram, and the acquaintance later developed into friendship.

The accused allegedly took advantage of the relationship and repeatedly assaulted her. Based on the victim's statement, police said the four men allegedly took her to different locations where they sexually assaulted her.

The complainant also alleged that the accused recorded videos of her and continuously threatened to leak them online to keep her silent.

The accused are expected to be produced before a court, while police continue to investigate the case.
