Udupi, Jul 23: Police arrested a man for allegedly illegally selling the banned narcotic substance ganja and seized 625.83 grams of the drug during a raid on Anil Pan Stall at Yermal in Bada village of Kaup taluk.
The accused has been identified as Anil. Acting on credible information about the illegal sale of ganja, the police conducted the raid and recovered 625.83 grams of ganja from the shop.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Karkala sub-division deputy superintendent of police S Vijayaprasad and Kaup circle inspector Azmath Ali. The raid was led by Padubidri police station PSIs Sakthivelu and Anil Kumar T Nayak, along with ASI Girish U R and police personnel Krishnaprasad, Mithun, Sandesh Bhandary, Raghavendra, and others.

Officials of the Udupi District SOCO (Scene of Crime Officers) examined the seized narcotic substance at the spot and assisted the investigating officers.
The accused was produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
