Kasargod: KSRTC temporary conductor dies by suicide amid fear of job loss

Kasargod, Aug 4: A 41-year-old temporary conductor with the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) allegedly died by suicide at Muliyar in Kasargod district, reportedly due to severe anxiety over the possibility of losing his job.

The deceased has been identified as Yogeesh M (41), a resident of Majakkar, Muliyar. He had been serving as a temporary conductor with KSRTC for the past 18 years.

According to reports, Yogeesh had been under severe stress and was experiencing depression over the past few days amid fears that he might lose his job. It is alleged that this anxiety led to the tragic incident near his residence.

He is survived by his mother and two brothers.

Adur police have registered a case and taken up further investigation into the incident.

    Very sad state of affairs. I wonder what made the KSRTC authority drag him for 18 years as temporary employee. Considering his long experience he could have got a job in some private buses. What had happened is indeed very tragic.

    For past 18 years he was working as temporary. Why was he not made permanent? Our institution and government are becoming less and less empathetic towards poor. May his soul RIP.

    May his soul rest in Peace.Now he not only lost job easily than he expected but his life?One should be not so pessimistik but take it easy and do so long you have itMay be he was more depressive?Otherwise noone do it so hard.Heartfelt sympathies to his family.People dont educate properly then want good job and money .How can it function.Have to do something else other than office jobs or even do whatever you get.
